Come to the Arkansas Entertainers Hall of Fame and trace the careers of The Natural State’s sons and daughters who have made their mark on the entertainment world. Be greeted by an animatronic statue of Johnny Cash that will entertain you with several original songs. Tour the exhibits of collections that include everything from the works of best-selling author John Grisham, to musical instruments owned by the likes of Levon Helm, Jimmy Driftwood and Art Porter, Jr. Be amazed by the costumes of famous Arkansans such as Jim Ed Brown, Charlie Rich, Collin Raye, Tracy Lawrence and many others. Movie and television fans will be impressed by memorabilia owned or associated with favorite stars such as Jerry Van Dyke’s work with the TV series, “Coach”, Harry Thomason’s work with “Designing Women”, and Oscar-winner Billy Bob Thornton’s role as Karl in the smash screenplay “Slingblade.” Admission is free.

Engine 819, Pine Bluff’s legendary queen of steam, weights 368 tons, measures 100 feet from front to back, takes 150 gallons of water and 15 gallons of oil just to run one mile of track. Railroad buffs should not miss it! Volunteer craftsmen, lovingly rebuilt Engine 819, the last 4-8-4 Northern type steam locomotive built in Pine Bluff. Tours are available year-round. The museum also houses passenger cars, cabooses and baggage cars – all restored to their original splendor as well as many artifacts used back in the days of steam engines. Special tours can be arranged. Admission is free.

The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas offers a diverse schedule of programs for the entire family. See exhibits of art in the galleries with traditional paintings and sculpture to the innovative techniques of today. Turn your kids loose on one of the frequent interactive science exhibits or catch one of the several productions – perhaps a light-hearted musical or a drama. The Band Museum

Visit the only museum in the country devoted to band instruments and the history of the band movement in America. Housed in a vintage downtown Pine Bluff building built in the 1880s, the Band Museum features a collection that includes hundreds of vintage and antique band instruments, some dating to the early 1700s. Afterwards, treat yourself to great tastes and nostalgia at the fully operational 1950s soda fountain. Admission is free.

Come and experience Arkansas’ first nature center located in Pine Bluff’s Regional Park. The center has 130 acres for exploring nature trails, wildflower areas and a chance to view some of the native wildlife. Indoors you will find exhibits featuring delta wildlife and history, aquariums with delta fishes and a gift shop with educational environmentally related items. Admission is free.

The Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Historical Museum offers visitors a glimpse into the past of Pine Bluff and surrounding Jefferson County. Within this fascinating museum, you can discover displays and collections of Civil War and World War II artifacts, Victorian furniture, clothing, quilts and antique dolls, plus tools, relics and cotton farming implements. The Museum is located in the Union Station train depot, which has been restored and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Admission is free.

The University Museum and Cultural Center is home to the Keepers of the Spirit: The L. A. Davis, Sr. Historical Collection that documents the more than 130-year history of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. In addition to the Keepers of the Spirit exhibit, the Museum also features a large collection of photographs, catalogs, yearbooks, letters, artifacts, portraits and other ephemera that document the lives of the people who helped to shape the history of the University and the Delta. Admission is free.
